Carlos Otero Design is a dynamic interior architecture practice based in Manhattan with a portfolio of residential and commercial projects in New York, The Hamptons, Fire Island and Buenos Aires.

Established in 2001, the firm offers a complete service to clients: from design and construction management to the last decorative details. We pay special attention to the client’s budget, carefully supervising all stages of the project.

For the design process, we emphasize an open exchange of ideas between the client and us. We also make sure that the study of light, location, proportion, context and client’s needs are tailored for each project.

Over the years, the firm meticulously selected a wide range of professionals to work with - including contractors, upholsterers, cabinet makers, landscape architects, art & antique dealers, metal workers and audio consultants - assuring the best quality and craftsmanship.

The firm also designs custom furniture for clients allowing for the best use of space and materials in our projects.

Carlos Otero Design interiors are noted for being simple, functional and elegant.

For Otero it’s all about creating a balance between architecture and interior design.

Our driving force is the challenge to create new spaces regardless of the style or function.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Carlos Otero received his degree in Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). After working for architectural firms in Buenos Aires, he moved to New York in 1996 and advanced his studies at the Parsons School of Design.

Thereafter, he started working as an architect and interior designer at Kyle Wells Inc. During this time he acquired broad experience in high end residential projects developed in New York, Europe and Australia.
